Aus der Radio Helsinki Sendereihe “Sorry We Are Open – Kultur Ohne Maske” vom 3.4.21, ein Schmankerl von historischem Wert. Wir befinden uns mitten in der Corona-Pandemie im Frühjahr 2021. Die Bars, Lokale und Venues müssen in Österreich lockdownbedingt geschlossen halten. Niemand weiss, wie es weitergeht – und ob. 

Die Übernahme des Music-House durch den Punk Verein Austria ist noch in sehr weiter Ferne. Peter Tschaudi, seit 1994 legendärer Chef des Lokals übergibt gerade an seinen Sohn Simon und an ein neues, engagiertes Team.

Peter erzählt einige denkwürdige Anekdoten, das Team erzählt vom mentalen Ist-Zustand.

Die Pandemie hat nun seit über einem Jahr die Welt fest im Griff. Seit November 2020 haben sämtliche Lokale und Veranstaltungsstätten der Grazer Subkultur durchgehend geschlossen. Wir haben uns im Rahmen der Radio Helsinki-Sendereihe „Sorry We Are Open – Kultur ohne Maske“ bereits mit dem Jugend- und Kulturzentrum Explosiv und dem SUB beschäftigt.

Seit 1994 wird das Music-House mit viel Liebe von Peter Tschaudi geführt, seit 2017 mischt sein Sohn Simon Storz kräftig mit und beide nutzen mit ihrem Team den Lockdown für grundlegende Renovierungsarbeiten und treffen optimistisch Vorbereitungen für Morgen. Im Interview erzählt Peter von den Anfängen des Music-House, dem Wandel der Zeit, Anekdoten und skurrile Geheimnisse, Simon spricht vorrangig über die Gegenwart und Zukunft. An diesem enstpannten, lustigen und interessanten Gespräch hat auch der Securitymensch Nino Hutterer, Mulham Abordan, Flo und Helena, Stammgäste und mittlerweile auch Teil der Belegschaft.

From Radio Helsinki’s series “Sorry We Are Open – Kultur ohne Maske” from 3rd April 2021, a treat of historical value. We are in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in spring 2021. Bars, restaurants and venues in Austria must remain closed due to lockdown restrictions. No one knows what will happen next – or if anything will happen at all.

The takeover of Music House by Punk Verein Austria is still a long way off. Peter Tschaudi, legendary manager of the venue since 1994, is currently handing over to his son Simon and a new, dedicated team.

Peter recounts some memorable anecdotes, and the team discusses the current state of mind.

The tracks from the original playlist had to be replaced for the Classix edition, but otherwise: listen and learn about (music house) history!

The pandemic has now had the world firmly in its grip for over a year. Since November 2020, all venues and event locations associated with Graz’s subculture scene have been closed. As part of Radio Helsinki’s series “Sorry We Are Open – Kultur ohne Maske,” we have already featured the Explosiv Youth and Cultural Centre and the autonomous venue SUB.

Peter Tschaudi has been running Music-House with great dedication since 1994, and his son Simon Storz has been actively involved since 2017. Together with their team, they are using the lockdown to carry out extensive renovations and are optimistically preparing for the future. In the interview, Peter talks about the beginnings of Music House, the changing times, anecdotes and bizarre secrets, while Simon focuses primarily on the present and the future. Security guard Nino Hutterer, Mulham Abordan, Flo and Helena, regulars and now also part of the staff, also take part in this relaxed, funny and interesting conversation.
