Wehe Sie denken sich „Pfff was für faule Sau, dieser Pecher…die Newsletter werden auch immer kürzer….“ Das große Durchschnaufen ist spätestens nächste Woche mit dem „Wall Of Sound“ Fest (Volxhaus Weiz) und diversen Krampusumzügen eh wieder vorbei.
Diese Woche gibt es per grazil FM einen kleinen Herbstrückblick. Und eine Frage für die Zukunft – Soll grazil auf Spotify scheissen – ja oder nein?

| Aus aktuellem Anlass – hier ein paar Fakten zu Spotify |
– Spotify ist die Streaming Plattform mit der schlechtesten Audio-Qualität
– Spotify schaltet als einzige Plattform ICE-Rekrutierungs-Ads
– Spotify hat von allen Plattformen die schlechteste und unfairste Artists-Vergütung
– Spotify CEO Daniel Ek investiert mit seiner zweiten Firma aus den Spotify-Gewinnen in ein deutsches Rüstungs-Start Up, welches KI-gesteuerte Kampfdrohnen entwickelt
– Spotify erlaubt sich, aus den upgeloadeten Tracks eigene, KI-generierte Remixes zu machen und diese zu monetarisieren, ohne dass die Artists einen Cent davon sehen
– Spotify bringt KI-generierte Tracks in die Spotify-Charts, um daraus zusätzlichen Profit zu lukrieren. Der Nachteil: Songs wie “Nenn mich einfach rechtsextrem”, “Fuck jullie linkse fuckers” (“Fickt euch, ihr linken Fuckers”) und “Wenn es dir nicht gefällt, dann geh” dominieren die holländischen Spotify Charts. KI-generierter rassistischer, rechtsextremer Dreck. |
Da fast alle grazil Artists auf Spotify vertreten sind und “von uns” bislang nur Lilac Vegetal Spotify verlassen hat, muss ich nochmal die Frage stellen: soll ich eure Releases von Spotify nehmen, oder ist es euch egal? Ich bin mit meinen eigenen Produktionen von Grazer Grant, Mossadeq und Blizzcreeps ebenso grade am überlegen…
Es gibt Alternativen, allerdings bin ich im Jänner mit meinem Meta-Boykott auf der Fresse gelandet, da diese Alternativen nicht einmal annähernd die Reichweite haben, als die klassischen, großen, bösen Multimilliardärskonzerne.
Aus ideologischer Sicht dürfte grazil Records eigentlich gar nix auf Spotify, Youtube oder Apple Music haben…
Tja, was machen wir jetzt? Mossadeq und Blizzcreeps kann ich runternehmen, da diese Sachen eh nur 1-2-stellige Hörerzahlen haben. Bei Grazer Grant wird es schon komplizierter…Für grazil FM gibt es genug Alternativen. Aber wie sieht es bei euch aus? Also sowohl bei den Artists, als auch bei den Konsumierenden? |

In light of recent events, here are a few facts about Spotify
Facts about Spotify:
– Spotify is the streaming platform with the worst audio quality
– Spotify is the only platform that runs ICE recruitment ads
– Spotify has the worst and most unfair artist remuneration of all platforms
– Spotify CEO Daniel Ek is investing Spotify’s profits in a German defense start-up that develops AI-controlled combat drones
– Spotify allows itself to make its own AI-generated remixes from uploaded tracks and monetize them without the artists seeing a cent
– Spotify puts AI-generated tracks in the Spotify charts to make extra profit. The downside: songs like “Just call me a right-wing extremist,” “Fuck jullie linkse fuckers” (“Fuck you, you left-wing fuckers”) and “If you don’t like it, then leave” dominate the Dutch Spotify charts. AI-generated racist, right-wing extremist filth. |
Since almost all Grazil artists are represented on Spotify and only Lilac Vegetal has left Spotify so far, I have to ask the question again: should I remove your releases from Spotify, or do you not care? I am currently considering doing the same with my own productions by Grazer Grant, Mossadeq and Blizzcreeps…
There are alternatives, but I fell flat on my face with my meta-boycott in January, as these alternatives don’t even come close to having the reach of the classic, big, bad multi-billion-pound corporations.
From an ideological point of view, grazil Records shouldn’t really have anything on Spotify, YouTube or Apple Music…
Well, what shall we do now? I can take down Mossadeq and Blizzcreeps, as these things only have 1-2 digit listener numbers anyway. With Grazer Grant, it gets more complicated… There are enough alternatives for Grazil FM. But what about you? Both the artists and the consumers? |
