| Graz, Ende der 90er: ein verrauchter Keller voller Menschen, krachende Gitarren, der Schweiß tropft von der Decke. Aufbruchsstimmung liegt in der Luft. Junge Leute gründen Bands, organisieren Konzerte, gehen auf Tour und machen die Stadt zum Zentrum einer neuen Subkultur. Conan City Hardcore ist eine mitreißende Zeitreise in die Grazer Punk- und Hardcore-Szene der späten 90er- und frühen 2000er-Jahre. HC Roth und Chris Magerl zeichnen anhand persönlicher Erinnerungen und O-Tönen damaliger Akteur·innen ein lebendiges Porträt dieser Ära. Sie erzählen von legendären Gigs, durchzechten Nächten und großen Träumen in einer Stadt, die für einen kurzen Moment der lauteste Ort Österreichs war. |

| Graz, late 1990s: a smoke-filled basement packed with people, guitars blaring, sweat dripping from the ceiling. There’s a spirit of optimism in the air. Young people form bands, organise concerts, go on tour and turn the city into the centre of a new subculture. Conan City Hardcore is a thrilling journey through time into the Graz punk and hardcore scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s. HC Roth and Chris Magerl draw on personal memories and original recordings of those involved at the time to paint a vivid portrait of this era. They tell of legendary gigs, nights of heavy drinking and big dreams in a city that, for a brief moment, was the loudest place in Austria. |
